I began painting in 2019 the day before I gave birth to my twins. An interest specifically in watercolor developed during my surprise pregnancy where I spent much of my time on the couch watching painters on pbs and youtube. The day before I was scheduled for induction, I was anxiously anticipating the birth of my girls and was looking for ways to relax. I decided to try my hand at watercolor. It was peaceful. Therapeutic. Something I carried along with me as I began my life as a mom to twin girls. I would paint during their naps to connect with myself and with my Creator. Many of my paintings during those first days were abstracts inspired by Bible passages or worship music. Anything that gave me peace and joy and life.
